2017 Annual Report

It was another eventful year for the Till & McCulloch Society featuring our exclusive lunch-and-learn series, Sandwiches & Scientists. In the third installment, Dr. Vuk Stambolic examined the relationship between obesity and cancer and how researchers at The Princess Margaret are leading the way in lifestyle interventions and medication. On October 13, 2016, members celebrated the first anniversary of the Till & McCulloch Society with a special evening at St. James Cathedral Centre. Members and senior staff of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre enjoyed a presentation from Dr. Peter Pisters, President & CEO, University Health Network. Dr. Pisters described the exciting changes taking place at The Princess Margaret as we transform patient care thanks to the remarkable support of our donors. In 2017, we also introduced a new lunch-and- learn series entitled Lunch with Leaders. In this program, members are given the opportunity to meet the department heads at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and learn firsthand, about the latest advancements in their areas. The inaugural speaker was Dr. Gary Rodin, Head, Department of Supportive Care. Dr. Rodin explained how The Princess Margaret is delivering the highest standard of supportive care to patients and families throughout their cancer journey and how we are exporting our unique knowledge globally.
