Gift from Ken and Joan Taylor accelerates Drug Trial for Multiple Myeloma Treatment Thanks to a transformative gift from Ken and Joan Taylor, medical oncologist Dr. Suzanne Trudel and her team can begin testing a new drug which she says “looks like a blockbuster for multiple myeloma,” a cancer of the white blood cells. Dr. Trudel has also been planning a study of the world’s first precision treatment for the disease, targeting a genetic mutation her lab identified in some patients’ tumours. The Taylor family has committed $1 million to support the creation of a Core Lab for drug development and a new clinical trials initiative. This gift establishes a reliable platform for long-term innovation, while also having the potential to make an impact for patients currently living with multiple myeloma. 26 | 2017 Report to Our Donors TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP
