This year will mark the first annual Northern Pass cycling fundraiser. This boutique bike ride will take place in the picturesque town of Gravenhurst. More than 70 riders will choose from three cycling routes: 40km, 100km and 150km. Garnet Rich is a founding committee member for Northern Pass. He was diagnosed with cancer over the past year and hopes this fundraising event will advance research and clinical care happening at The Princess Margaret. “I am grateful to the doctors and staff at The Princess Margaret who provided stellar care during a difficult time for me and my family,” says Rich. NewMuskoka Cycling Fundraiser Northern Pass is Launched The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation launched BREASTOBER, a new initiative that raised almost $90,000 for the Breast Cancer Program at The Princess Margaret. Throughout October, several groups fundraised for this cause including Freda Lochhead, who was treated for breast cancer at The Princess Margaret. In 2014, she started selling pink ribbons to raise funds. Soon after, her Ribbons of Hope Campaign inspired others. Arthur Hanton, a Court Officer with the Toronto Police Service, decided to get his colleagues involved. Along with other security and medical services in the GTA, they sold and wore pink epaulettes throughout this campaign. Ribbons, epaulettes, parties, shopping and more!
