Joe Finley Centre for Head and Neck Cancer Research
opens thanks to $11 million raised by the ‘team’
W
hat can be accomplished when
people catch the triathlon bug
and support a worthy cause?
Something absolutely historic!
On March 26, 2015, Princess Margaret Cancer
Centre announced the opening of the
Joe
Finley Centre for Head and Neck Research
thanks to the efforts of Joe’s Team triathlon/
duathlon participants, sponsors and
generous donors.
Joe’s Team was created when Joe Finley, who
was diagnosed with nasal pharyngeal cancer
in August 2004, approached The Princess
Margaret Cancer Foundation with the dream
of creating a fundraising triathlon/duathlon.
Joe lost his battle with cancer in October 2010,
but his vision continues carried on by his wife
Cara, his children Mike and Meagan, and his
many friends and colleagues.
