Brimming with gratitude and paying it forward

aniela Del Rosso has raised over
$62,736 for Princess Margaret
Cancer Centre. She has held poker
tournaments, garage sales, and bus trips
for her friends and family, with her annual
bowling night being a particular favourite.
Like many, Daniela began fundraising for
The Princess Margaret after being treated at
the cancer centre. She was diagnosed and
treated for two different types of cancer—
Hodgkin’s lymphoma and thyroid—before
she was 30 years old.
After ‘staring down’ Hodgkin’s lymphoma,
good fortune came to Daniela in the form of
Michael Boccia. They dated, and made all the
plans that young couples make, confident that
Daniela’s cancer was in the past.
But about one year later, she was diagnosed
with thyroid cancer and again had to
prepare mentally and physically for arduous
treatment.
Today, Daniela is doing well and celebrating
life in all its wonderful dimensions. She has
a devoted husband in Michael, and she just
delivered her first child, Sydney Faith Boccia.
She is a wonderful ambassador for The
Princess Margaret and a very active part of
the effort to conquer cancer in our lifetime.
